The Harry Potter Project

During our first year at university we learned about character creation and mouldmaking technniquess using the Harry Potter world as our inspiration.

My character was based on the mermaids that live in the lake of Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft. I sculpted it using chivant NSP and sculpted tentacles around it to mimic the underwater creatures in the Harry Potter universe. We then cast them in silicone and ran the wands in fast-cast resin.

I was pleased with my final piece, which came out of the moould exactly as I'd hoped it would. I then painted it so that it looked like it had been used by a student at Hogwarts.
